10th Annual Youth Football Clinic Set for June 5
An event that was postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic is set to hit the field at Independence Stadium for the 10th time in the event’s history on Saturday, June 5.
The Youth Clinic is a free clinic and open to youth from five-years-old through incoming eighth-graders. The clinic will kick off at 8 a.m. and run until approximately 11:30 a.m. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. at the southwest entrance of Independence Stadium.
Parents can register their children in advance for the clinic, and preregistration is available now at RadianceTechnologiesIndependenceBowl.com/youth-football-clinic. Spots for the clinic are limited to 400 participants.
The annual Youth Football Clinic teaches participants football fundamentals by participating in offensive, defensive and special team drills. Youth will also learn different fitness techniques and the importance of being physically active. The clinic all teaches participants life skills from some of the region’s finest college football coaches.
Participants will receive instruction from regional college coaches from Northwestern State University, Grambling State University and Louisiana College. They will also receive a free t-shirt and lunch following the clinic.

ON THE HORIZON – KICKOFF K’S 5K & HALF MARATHON
The Kickoff K’s 5K and Half Marathon is approaching quickly, as the races will hit the streets of Shreveport on Saturday, May 15. The half marathon will kick off the day at 7 a.m., while the 5K will follow shortly after at 7:15 a.m. Both races will start and finish at Fern Marketplace in front of the event’s presenting sponsor – Orangetheory Fitness. The route features some of Shreveport’s most scenic South Highlands streets.
Registration is open now and is $70 for the half marathon and $30 for the 5K. The price of registration will increase $5 on the day of the race. All preregistered runners will receive a Kickoff K’s t-shirt, and all runners who finish the half marathon will receive a commemorative medal.

Public tickets and ticket renewals for the 2021 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl are available now. Ticket buyers eligible for renewals from the 2019 Independence Bowl and customers who rolled over their tickets from 2020 will receive their original seating assignments from 2019.
Individual tickets are $30 for endzone bench seats and $45 for sideline bench. Sideline chairback seats are available for qualifying Independence Bowl Foundation members and sponsors at $50 apiece. A bevy of other ticket packages are available for the 45th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl – including group tickets, Chairman’s Club, Family Four-Packs and endzone tent packages.
