11th Annual Youth Football Clinic Hits the Field on June 4
SHREVEPORT, La. (March 22, 2022) – A yearly tradition for the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl – the bowl will host the 11th annual Youth Football Clinic at Independence Stadium on Saturday, June 4 from 8-11:30 a.m.
The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic is a free football clinic with instruction from local and regional college football coaches, as well as former NFL players. Boys and girls from ages five through incoming-eighth graders are invited to participate in the free, non-contact football clinic.
Parents can register their children in advance of the free clinic at RadianceTechnologiesIndependenceBowl.com/youth-football-clinic. Spots for the clinic are limited to 400 participants. Check-in for preregistered participants and registration if space is still available on the morning of the event will begin at 7 a.m. in the southwest entrance of Independence Stadium, and the clinic will run from 8 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m.
The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Clinic provides boys and girls with an opportunity to learn football fundamentals by participating in offensive, defensive and special teams drills from regional college football coaches and former NFL players. Youth will also learn different important fitness techniques and the importance of being physically active. All participants will receive a free lunch following the clinic and a free t-shirt.

The Member Crawfish Boil is back for 2022 in a new location. All active Independence Bowl Foundation members will receive two wristbands for all-you-can-eat crawfish and jambalaya from Shaver’s Catering. The boil will be at Hurricane Alley in the East Bank District of Bossier City (located behind BeauxJax Crafthouse, Bayou Axe Co. and Frozen Pirogue) on Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Enjoy live music from The Hollow Decks throughout the entirety of the event, and a kid zone will also be set up in Hurricane Alley! Established in 1976, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl™ is the nation’s 11th-oldest bowl game. The UAB Blazers defeated the No. 13 BYU Cougars 31-28 in the 45th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl on Saturday, December 18, 2021. The Independence Bowl Foundation announced a one-year extension with Radiance Technologies – ensuring they will be the title sponsor through 2025.
