Flying Heart Helps Independence Bowl Raise Over $3,300 through Give for Good
SHREVEPORT, La. (May 8, 2024) – Give for Good 2024 is in the books, and the Independence Bowl Foundation partnered with Flying Heart Brewing & Pub this year to drive more donations to the Independence Bowl Foundation. Flying Heart donated $2,000 to the Independence Bowl Foundation through Give for Good.
Including Flying Heart’s and online donations, the Independence Bowl Foundation raised over $3,300 through Give for Good. The focus of Give for Good this year was its partnership with the College Football Playoff Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers initiative. Each year, the Independence Bowl Foundation partners with Extra Yard for Teachers, which provides funding to local educators for their specific projects submitted on DonorsChoose.org. The College Football Playoff Foundation matches 100 percent of all donations funded by the Independence Bowl.
Flying Heart honored teachers for “Teacher Tuesdays” on April 16, 23 and 30, and Give for Good Day on May 7, donating a percentage of sales from each night to the Independence Bowl Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers fund.
This year, Extra Yard for Teachers Week is September 14-21, and the Big Day is Tuesday, September 17. The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl has donated over $85,000 to local teachers and education over the past three years.
The Community Foundation of North Louisiana hosts Give for Good annually as part of its mission to increase local philanthropy and enhance the quality of life in North Louisiana. Give For Good is CFNLA’s gift to the nonprofit community and receives zero proceeds from the event. Give for Good 2024 raised a record-breaking $2.93 million from 4,300 for 222 nonprofits. Since 2014, Give for Good has raised over $22 million for local nonprofits.
