Independence Bowl Foundation Welcomes 2025 Executive Committee and Board of Directors

 

 

SHREVEPORT, La. (March 21, 2025) – In the first female-to-female succession of Chair of the Independence Bowl Foundation, Sarah Giglio was handed the reigns as 2025 Chair of the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl by the 2024 Chair, Claire Rebouche.

“I am so excited to be starting my year as the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Chair,” exclaimed Giglio. “It is such an honor to be trusted with this role. As a longtime college football fan and a fan of our community’s bowl game specifically, it is a dream come true to be able to lead this wonderful organization this year.”

The full 2025 Executive Committee and Board of Directors was voted in at the Independence Bowl Foundation Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, March 13. The Executive Committee and Board of Directors feature some of the top leaders in the Shreveport-Bossier City Community.

Giglio is a partner at Gilmer & Giglio, a criminal defense and personal injury law firm. She graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University and cum laude from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. She began practicing criminal defense in Dallas at the law firm of Rosenthal & Wadas, until she moved to Shreveport in 2014. She was an associate attorney at Elton B. Richey & Associates until she opened Gilmer & Giglio in January of 2017. She is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Louisiana.

Giglio is also involved in several professional and community organizations, including the National College for DUI Defense, Booth-Politz Inn of Court and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is also actively involved in the Krewe of Justinian, and served as a Duchess of the Krewe for the 2018 Mardi Gras season. She served as President of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier from 2021-2022, and she has also served on the Board of Directors for Sci-Port Discovery Center.

  • Two-Year Term: Taylor Jamison (NextEra Energy Resources)
  • Two-Year Term: Lee Holmes (U.S. Air Force Reserve)
  • One-Year Term: Doug Bland (Bland Agency, Inc.)
  • One-Year Term: Cindy Smith (KSM Marketing Agency)

Sixteen Three-Year Term members and one One-Year Term member of the Board of Directors were voted in at the Annual Membership Meeting, while the Two-Year and One-Year term members rolled into their respective board slots. There are also 32 Life Directors on the board. The Independence Bowl Foundation Board of Directors has 81 active members. Established in 1976, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl™ is college football’s 11th most historic bowl game. No. 22/19 (CFP/AP) Army West Point defeated Louisiana Tech, 27-6, in the 48th edition on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Radiance Technologies is the bowl’s title sponsor through the 2025-26 Bowl Season. The bowl’s conference, team and television agreements also run through the 2025-26 season.
