Tickets to Primetime Saturday Night Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl on Sale to the Public September 5
The 2023 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl is set to kick off on Saturday night, December 16 at 8:15 p.m. CT, and tickets to North Louisiana’s premier nationally televised sporting event will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, September 5.
Hayden Travinski Named 2023 Carl Mikovich Sportsperson of the Year
Fresh off a National Championship with the LSU baseball team, former Loyola College Prep and Airline High School star Hayden Travinski has been named the 2023 Carl Mikovich Sportsperson of the Year. Travinski will be honored with the award at the 47th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl on Saturday, December 16.

The date and time are set for the 47th playing of the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl, as the 2023 edition of Shreveport-Bossier’s annual college football bowl game will kick off on Saturday, December 16 at 8:15 p.m. CT on ESPN.
Big 12 Conference to be Primary Tie-In in 2023 and 2025
The current Bowl Season tie-ins are in effect through the 2025-26 season, but with the BYU Cougars moving to the Big 12 Conference this year, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl will feature the Big 12 as a primary tie-in for the 2023 and 2025 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowls.

Bryan Roppolo Installed as 2023 Independence Bowl Foundation Chair
Bryan Roppolo, owner of Roppolo’s Insulation, was installed as the 2023 Chair of the Independence Bowl Foundation at the organization’s Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, March 9. Roppolo took over for the past chair, Rob Rubel, on the same night that the Independence Bowl Foundation also voted in the new executive committee and board of directors.
1st & Give Charity Flag Football Tournament Returns on May 6
For the third year running, the Independence Bowl Foundation will host its annual 1st & Give Charity Flag Football Tournament. The tournament will be played on Saturday, May 6 at Independence Stadium. The tournament supports various non-profits throughout the Shreveport-Bossier City area, as each participating team will play on behalf of their chosen charity.
