NFL Pro Bowl to Feature Four Independence Bowl Alumni

11 Independence Bowl Alumni Set to Play in AFC and NFC Championship Games
The final four of the National Football League (NFL) playoffs is set, as the Cincinnati Bengals will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game and San Francisco 49ers will take on the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game, and the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl will be heavily represented in the two conference championship games.
Three Independence Bowl Alumni to Be inducted to College Football Hall of Fame
The National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Football Hall of Fame announced on Monday, December 10 the 2022 College Football Hall of Fame Class – featuring Independence Bowl alumni LSU running back Kevin Faulk, Oklahoma defensive back Roy Williams and Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel. With three inductees in 2022, there will be 23 Independence Bowl alumni in the College Football Hall of Fame.
Viewership Tops 3.37 Million on ABC
Drawing over 3.2 million viewers on Saturday, December 18 on ABC, the 45th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl between the UAB Blazers and BYU Cougars topped college football viewership this past weekend according to the early viewership numbers.
UAB Outduels No. 13 BYU 31-28 in 45th Independence Bowl
On a rainy and windy Saturday, the 45th Radiance Technologies turned in one of its finest games in a back-and-forth battle between the UAB Blazers and BYU Cougars. In what was one of the biggest victories in program history, UAB defeated No. 13 BYU 31-28 to earn their second bowl win in program history and first Independence Bowl victory.
Flyover for Independence Bowl to Feature Three B-52s
The 2021 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl kicks off at 2:30 p.m. CST, and the fans will be welcomed to the stadium with a unique flyover just before kickoff – featuring three B-52 bombers from Barksdale Air Force Base.
No. 13 BYU to Take the Field Against UAB in 45th Independence Bowl

2021 Willis-Knighton Community Service Scholarship Recipients Announced
For the 16th consecutive year, the Independence Bowl Foundation and Willis-Knighton Health System are partnering to award a $2,500 scholarship to a graduating senior from both Bossier and Caddo Parishes, and the 2021 recipients of the Willis-Knighton/Independence Bowl Foundation Community Service Scholarship are Brianna Cooley from Parkway High School and Ruhani Sachdeva from Caddo Parish Magnet High School.

Bradley “Spirit of Independence” Award and Carl Mikovich Sportsperson of the Year Award, respectively, at the 45th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

Alongside the College Football Playoff Foundation and Extra Yard for Teachers, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl donated a total of $11,243 to local teachers in Caddo and Bossier Parishes.
